When you think of Paris and Venice Beach, there are a few cultural comparisons that can be made. There's the shared love of coffee, whether it be a double espresso in Le Marais or a double matcha frappuccino along Abbot Kinney Blvd. Both citizens share a nonchalant attitude that can strike terror into people-pleasers the world over. And they both have thriving art scenes. That's about it. Yet when Dior’s Kim Jones debuted a collaboration with Eli Russell Linnetz of ERL in LA last May, their two respective design codes (formed by their transatlantic hometowns) made a covetable pairing.

Fast forward to a wet and windy 2023 and the collection is available to buy, ready to add some much-needed sunshine into your winter wardrobe. The mash-up led to a surfer cool update of Jones’ signature slouchy tailoring and boxy boy shorts, featuring tidal wave hoodies, newspaper-print shirts and acid-wash denim. Haute enough for the first arrondissement while equally as mellow for a coastal lifestyle.

Accessories took a dunk too. Dior’s B23 high-top was remastered with a quilted swirl resemblant of breaking waves, while the B96 and logo-embossed B23 Skater were new additions to the growing cult trainer collection. The rose-tinted sunglasses and padded bucket hats make for easy wearing come rain or shine. And as a contemporary bijou for the collegiate style blazers, a crystal wheat-shaped brooch with house initials dangling from its frame.
